Upfront is pursuing a comprehensive patenting strategy designed to protect all aspects of its Rhobust® Universal Processing Platform and to continuously build new rights and extend existing rights that broaden and strengthen its IP portfolio.

The fundamental patent rights already granted, afford substantial protection of the Company's Expanded Bed Adsorption technologies. These will be broadened and reinforced with patents relating to improvements of the basic technology, specific ligand chemistries, specific process conditions, and clearly defined "turn key" solutions within selected applications.

The Rhobust® platform is also protected by substantial know-how that has been built up over more than a decade of pioneering research & development resulting in industrial implementation at a number of key sites globally. Thus Upfront has the freedom to fully exploit opportunities in its chosen markets with confidence; the company's strong IP position protects this business both now and in the very long term.
